What is Kanetomi Black Box Uni?
The Black Box is Kanetomi's signature Nemuro Bafun uni (馬糞雲丹) — premium AAA uni from Nemuro in eastern Hokkaido, one of the most productive uni-producing regions in Japan. It's known for a vibrant orange color, a rich sweetness, and a firm texture. Kanetomi (金富) is a hidden gem among Hokkaido uni brands, long favored by local connoisseurs and now available to customers outside Japan.

Bafun uni runs to a concentrated, intense sweetness (甘味 / amami) with a deep umami — richer and more pronounced than the lighter, creamier Murasaki. Graded AAA, packed fresh in a 250g box, and available year-round.

How to enjoy
