Tottori · Caffeine-Free Herbal Tea
Yumemakura Dokudami Tea
Brought directly from Tottori — only by Hokkaido Uni Shop.

What is Yumemakura?
Yumemakura (夢まくら) is a Japanese herbal tea built on dokudami (どくだみ), blended with ten plants in all — hatomugi (Job's tears), habucha, kawara-ketsumei, persimmon leaf, kuko leaf, tochu leaf, kumazasa bamboo grass, aloe, and licorice. Dokudami on its own is strong and hard to keep drinking. This blend was made to change that: it comes out smooth like mugicha (barley tea), with the roasted depth of hojicha, and no bitterness to push through. It's caffeine-free, so it suits any hour and anyone at the table.

The name came from a dream — its maker heard the words in his sleep and called the tea Yumemakura, "dream pillow." What he was after was plain enough: a dokudami tea you'd actually finish, and pour again the next day. The dokudami, hatomugi, kuko and tochu leaves in this version are grown in Japan, which is also why it's made in limited quantity each year.

How to enjoy

In a teapot: one tea bag, pour in hot water, wait 20–30 seconds, then pour out to the last drop. For a batch: simmer one bag in 1–2 liters of water over low heat for 3–5 minutes, then chill it in the fridge to drink cold. It also works in a coffee maker — one bag makes a liter straight off. Cold-brewing works as well. No sweetening needed.

Pairing notes — everyday meals, hot or chilled, morning through evening.

Good to know: This is a herbal tea, not a medicine or a supplement, and we make no health claims for it. It is a dokudami blend made to be easy enough to drink every day. Caffeine-free. Because the main herbs are grown in Japan, production is limited each year. Store in a cool, dry place.
