What is Kaisen Don?
Kaisendon or 海鮮丼 is a Japanese traditional donburi dish that consists of rice topped with raw seafood called Sashimi. Kaisen means fresh seafood, Don means a rice bowl. Especially, Kaisen Don of Hokkaido is very popular because it is more delicious and the seafood is fresher than it is in other areas.
How to make Kaisen Don
1) Prepare rice
2) Slice the tuna into about 7 mm (0.3 in.) thick pieces
3) Serve Tuna into rice bowls, top with the Ikura (salmon roe) and Uni (sea urchin) with a side of soy sauce and wasabi paste.
